How to Become a MYM Creator
Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated
The short answer to how to become a MYM creator: you must be 18 or older, open an account on the creator portal at creators.mym.fans, publish at least three media, and pass certification with a passport or national ID card plus a security selfie. Fans cannot see your profile until MYM certifies it. Prices, posts and whether messaging is switched on are then your decisions.
MYM is the French subscription platform operated by Air Medias SAS in Paris. Everything below was checked against its creator contract (the CGS) and its French help centre on 30 September 2026. If you want the wider picture first, read how MYM works for creators.
What do you need before you sign up?
You need proof of age and identity, a phone that can receive SMS codes, and a bank account that belongs to you. No company number is required for a personal account.
MYM accepts two identity documents only: a passport or a national ID card. Its help centre says driving licences, health insurance cards and residence permits are refused. The minimum age is 18 for every account type, fans and ambassadors included.
Sort the bank account out early. MYM’s help centre says you must own the account your transfers go to, and changing the IBAN later requires a code sent by SMS.
How to become a MYM creator, step by step?
Certification is the gate: until it is complete, the profile stays invisible to fans. The contract lists what MYM needs, and the order below is the practical one.
| Step | What MYM asks for | Where it is written |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Sign up | An account on the creator portal | creators.mym.fans |
| 2. Publish media | At least three media on the account | CGS §5.2.2 |
| 3. Identity details | Full name and address, with a maiden name if you are married | CGS §5.2.2 |
| 4. Phone | A number confirmed by SMS | CGS §5.2.2 |
| 5. ID and selfie | Passport or national ID card, then a live security selfie | CGS §5.2.2, help centre |
| 6. Payout method | A bank account in your name | Help centre |
Outside specialists run the checks. MYM’s privacy policy names Yoti for the document and face check, and a transparency article says ID documents have been authenticated by Finovox since 2025. The same privacy policy says identity data is kept for eight years.
Expect the review to be strict. In a statement dated 23 June 2025, MYM said that of more than 302,000 creator certification requests over twelve months, close to 49,700 were refused for non-compliance or suspected fraud. A clear, complete photo of a valid document is the part you control. MYM’s own help article on certification (in French) lists the accepted documents.
Personal or professional account: which should you pick?
Start with personal status unless you already run a registered business. It is the default, and MYM asks for no SIRET or company number to begin.
A professional account needs a company number (SIRET or SIREN in France), a registration certificate and, for French companies, a VAT number. It also adds paperwork: the help centre says every payout to a professional account must come with a compliant invoice, and switching status does not reach back to earnings already paid. The contract leaves the choice to you. Our guide to MYM taxes covers what French creators declare and where MYM’s guidance stops.
Which bank details does MYM accept?
Only an account held in your own name. That rule protects you, because no manager, partner or agency can legitimately have your earnings sent elsewhere.
MYM lists IBAN countries plus formats for Australia, Canada, Mexico, Russia and the United States, and notes the list is not exhaustive. Its help centre gives a payout minimum of €50 for SEPA transfers and €100 for non-SEPA or SWIFT accounts. Hold periods and payout days are in our MYM payouts guide.
How should you set your first prices?
You choose every price and publish it before VAT. The fan then sees a VAT-inclusive price based on the country they enter at checkout.
MYM’s company site gives a subscription range of €4.99 to €99.99 a month; the contract sets no floor or ceiling. When you pick a number, look at what reaches you. MYM keeps 25% of subscriptions and 20% of push media, private media, lives and tips, and before that it deducts bank fees of 3.5% or 7%, calculated on the price including VAT. By our own arithmetic, a €10 subscription bought by a French fan leaves you €6.87 at the 7% rate. The MYM fees guide shows the formula.
For a launch offer, MYM lets you discount the first month by anything from 5% to 100%, with one campaign running at a time.
What should your first posts look like?
Public posts on your feed must not be explicit. Blurred media, which fans see once they subscribe, carries no such restriction.
A few rules catch new creators out:
- Everything on your feed or sent as private media must show you. Content featuring other people needs a separate photographer account, and MYM can ask for proof of their consent.
- AI-generated images are allowed if labelled, for example with “virtual image” in the caption or the #AI hashtag.
- MYM’s documents disagree on the daily limit for public posts: the contract says two, the help centre says five. Posting two a day keeps you inside both.
For a public post to be considered for the home feed, the help centre asks for images that are suggestive but not explicit, in HD, with no text or emoji on them.
When should you send your first push media?
Once you have subscribers. A paid push media only reaches fans subscribed to you, so sending one to an empty list earns nothing.
Push media are photos or videos you send unprompted through private messages, free or paid. They sit next to private media, which fans request and you deliver within 72 hours of payment. Our push media guide covers pricing and how the paid formats fit together.
Do you need an agency to start on MYM?
No. The steps are identical with or without help, and MYM has no partner or certified agencies. We take on creators at every stage, including people with no account yet, and our MYM management page sets out what we handle and what stays with you.
