How Does MYM Work? A Creator's Walkthrough
Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated
MYM does two jobs for a creator. It locks the feed behind a subscription the creator prices between €4.99 and €99.99, and it sells single items on top: push media sent by message, private media made to order, a Media on Demand library, tips, paid lives and one-to-one private shows. Below is how each part works, checked against MYM’s terms on 30 September 2026.
How does MYM work when a fan subscribes?
The fan pays the creator’s price plus the VAT of their own country, and the blurred part of the feed opens. A subscription is monthly and open-ended unless the creator sells a prepaid fixed term, which becomes an ordinary monthly subscription when it runs out, as MYM’s terms of sale set out.
Creators enter prices before VAT, and MYM adds the tax at checkout based on the country the fan gives. A fan in France therefore sees a higher price than a fan in the United States for the same account. A creator can run one first-month promotion at a time, anywhere from 5% to 100% off.
Posts are either public, and then they must be non-explicit, or blurred for anyone who has not subscribed. The contract caps posting at 2 public and 300 non-public media a day, while the help centre allows 5 public posts a day. The contract is the document a creator accepts, so we plan around its lower limit.
What can a fan see before paying?
Public posts and blurred previews, and only from certified accounts, since an uncertified profile is invisible to fans. Discovery inside MYM is narrow: search finds creators by name, and there is no keyword search for content.
The home feed is built in thirds. Two thirds come from creators the fan subscribes to, used to subscribe to or showed interest in, newest first; the last third are creators MYM suggests. A fan becomes “interested” by starring or bookmarking a profile, liking a public photo or leaving a checkout unfinished, and the creator can then send that fan an offer or a gift once every 7 days. How to grow on MYM looks at what that means for winning subscribers.
What are push media, private media and Media on Demand?
Push media is content a creator sends unprompted through private messages, either free or paid, and a paid push only goes to subscribers. Private media is the made-to-order version: the fan asks, the creator names a price, and delivery is due within 72 hours of payment.
Media on Demand (MOD) is a paid library the fan opens from its own tab on the profile. This table shows who starts each sale and what MYM’s standard commission is.
| Sale | Who starts it | Price rules MYM publishes | MYM commission (standard) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Fan | €4.99–€99.99; monthly or fixed term | 25% |
| Push media | Creator, by message | No published limit | 20% |
| Private media | Fan, by request | Quoted by the creator; 72-hour delivery | 20% |
| Media on Demand | Fan, from the profile tab | No published limit | Not listed separately in the fee table |
| Tip | Fan | Any amount the fan chooses | 20% |
| Paid live | Creator | Ticket price set by the creator | 20% |
| Private show | Fan books it | €19.99–€1,000; 5 minutes to 2 hours | 20% |
MYM also deducts bank fees of 3.5% or 7% from each of these, which our page on MYM fees works through with MYM’s own example. MYM push media goes deeper into pricing paid messages.
How do lives and private shows work on MYM?
A live can be free or ticketed. A private show is a one-to-one live lasting from 5 minutes to 2 hours, and its price must fall between €19.99 and €1,000, according to MYM’s help article on private shows (in French).
Money from live tickets becomes available for payout after 7 days, the same hold that applies to private media and tips.
Does a creator have to chat with fans?
No. MYM’s terms leave it to the creator whether messaging is switched on. Push media and private media both travel through messages, though, so an account that keeps messaging closed gives up two of its sale types.
The same terms let a creator run messaging through a chatbot, an AI tool or an agent, and the fan-facing terms of sale say so too. MYM’s help centre adds that it cannot detect who is writing and that each creator should be open with fans about who answers. At Bunny Agency, trained people write every message; MYM chatting describes how the service runs.
How do fans pay on MYM?
By bank card (Visa, CB or Mastercard), by cryptocurrency, or by PayPal for some creators. VAT is added according to the country the fan enters at purchase.
MYM settles disputes between fans and creators and can decide to refund a fan at its own discretion. It carries fraud losses up to 1% of a creator’s turnover on the platform, and anything above that falls on the creator.
Is there a MYM app?
Not in the app stores, as far as MYM’s help centre shows. It explains how to add the website to a phone’s home screen so it opens like an app, and creators work from the browser at creators.mym.fans.
What happens to the money after a sale?
VAT goes to the state, bank fees and MYM’s commission come off, and the rest waits in a hold of 7 to 60 days before it can be paid out. MYM payouts covers the holds, minimums and methods. None of this starts until an account has passed certification, which how to become a MYM creator explains step by step.
