MYM Glossary
Last updated
This MYM glossary defines twelve words that MYM uses in its contracts, help centre and creator dashboard, from push media to Mandataire. Each entry stands alone and was checked against MYM’s own documents on 30 September 2026. Where the French word is the one you will meet in a contract, it is given next to the English.
Why does a MYM glossary need the French terms?
Because MYM’s binding documents are written only in French. The app runs in eight languages and the help centre in four, but asking for the English version of the terms of use returns the same French text.
| Term on this page | MYM’s French wording | Where MYM uses it |
|---|---|---|
| Push media | Médias Push | Terms of use, creator fee table |
| Private media | Médias Privés | Creator contract |
| Media on Demand | Media On Demand | Terms of use |
| Blurred media | Médias Non-Publics | Terms of use |
| Paid live | Live | Terms of use |
| Private show | show privé | Help centre |
| Tip | Pourboire | Creator fee table |
| Earnings hold | en attente | Creator contract, help centre |
| Bank fees | Frais Bancaires | Creator fee table |
| High-risk account | High Risk | Creator fee table |
| Ambassador | Ambassadeur | Referral terms |
| Mandataire | Mandataire | Creator contract, terms of use |
When the contract and the help centre disagree, as they do on bank fees and on tips for SuperStar creators, the definition gives both. For the full picture on money, read the guides to MYM fees and MYM payouts; for push media in practice, see how MYM push media works. Questions that need more than a definition are answered in the MYM agency FAQ.
- Ambassador
An ambassador is a member of MYM’s referral programme, run from ambassadors.mym.fans. MYM pays the ambassador 10% of a referred creator’s cleared earnings for 24 months after that creator’s account opens, out of MYM’s own share, so the creator’s income is unchanged. Tips are excluded, creators already on MYM cannot be re-referred, and ambassadors must tell the creators they refer what they are paid.
- Blurred (non-public) media
Non-public media are posts MYM shows blurred until a fan subscribes; the terms of use call them “Médias Non-Publics” and state that they appear blurred on the platform. Explicit material may be posted only in this form, because MYM’s help centre bars explicit content from public feed posts and sets no such limit on blurred ones. Only public posts can be picked for promotion in MYM’s home feed.
- Bank fees
Frais bancaires is MYM’s name for a payment-processing deduction charged on top of its commission. It is a percentage of what the fan paid with VAT included: 3.5% or 7% under the creator contract, depending on how MYM classes the account’s risk, while the help centre simply states 7%. Because it is deducted first, it explains most of the gap between a headline 20% commission and what actually reaches the creator.
- Earnings hold
The earnings hold is MYM’s clearing period: a sale shows as pending (“en attente”) and cannot be withdrawn until it ends. Its length follows what was sold, from one week for tips and single media up to two months for a six-month subscription. If a payment looks fraudulent, MYM’s creator contract allows a longer hold, running up to two months after the fan paid.
- High-risk account
High Risk is the class MYM’s creator contract gives to accounts whose content is adult or sexy, about clairvoyance and astrology, or tied to a regulated activity. These accounts pay the 7% bank fee on each transaction instead of 3.5%. MYM decides the risk level itself, together with its payment providers, so a creator cannot pick the class.
- Mandataire (agent)
Mandataire is the word MYM’s contracts use for an agent: any person or company a creator engages, a talent or marketing agency for example, to help supply media on MYM. The contracts allow a mandataire to be active on the creator’s account, require it to be declared to MYM at support@mym.fans without delay, and leave the creator fully responsible for everything done through the account.
- Private media
Private media (“Médias Privés” in MYM’s contract) is custom content a fan asks for in messages, at a price the creator quotes. Once the fan has paid, MYM’s creator terms give the creator 72 hours to deliver it. MYM keeps 20% of the sale after the bank fee, and SuperStar status requires delivering private media within 48 hours on average.
- Private show
A private show is a one-to-one live session between a creator and a single fan. MYM’s help centre allows a length of 5 minutes to 2 hours and a price between €19.99 and €1,000, set by the creator. The creator’s share on private shows is 80% according to the help centre, the same as on private media and tips.
- Media on Demand (MOD)
Media on Demand, shortened to MOD, is a paid media library attached to a MYM profile. MYM’s terms of use describe it as a dedicated library reached from the “Media On Demand” tab of the creator’s profile, separate from the subscription feed and from private messages. MYM’s published fee table does not list MOD as its own line, so check the dashboard before pricing it.
- Paid live
A paid live is a live stream on MYM that fans need a ticket to watch; the terms of use say access to a creator’s live can be free or paid. MYM’s commission on live revenue is 20% under the creator contract, taken after the bank fee, and ticket earnings clear after a 7-day hold. The one-to-one version is called a private show.
- Tip
A tip (“Pourboire” in MYM’s fee table) is money a fan chooses to give a creator, at their own discretion and with nothing directly in return, which is how MYM’s terms of use word it. MYM takes 20% of tips. For SuperStar creators the contract lowers that to 19%, while the help centre says the SuperStar reduction does not cover tips. Tips earn a referring ambassador nothing.
- Push media
In MYM’s vocabulary (“Médias Push” in its contracts), a push is a message with media that the creator sends on their own initiative, whether to a single subscriber or to a whole list. OnlyFans users would call the paid kind PPV. Two rules set it apart: only the creator’s current subscribers can receive a paid push, and MYM keeps 20% of each sale once the bank fee has come off.
