MYM Agency Scams and Red Flags
Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated
MYM agency scams tend to announce themselves before you sign: a promised monthly income, a course sold beside the management offer, no company behind the website, a request for your password, or a plan to change the bank account MYM pays. MYM says it has no partner or certified agencies, so an agency presenting itself as one is misstating its position.
MYM is the French creator platform run by Air Medias SAS in Paris. We are a management agency and compete with the agencies we studied, so we report what we found as counts and name nobody. The platform rules below were checked on 30 September 2026.
What do MYM agency scams look like in practice?
Most involve a promise nobody can keep, or a request for control over your account or your money. On 30 September 2026 we read the websites of 14 agencies that offer MYM management and recorded every warning sign visible on the pages.
| Warning sign | Agencies showing it (of 14) | Why it matters on MYM |
|---|---|---|
| Income or growth guarantee | 2 | MYM does not publish how it ranks creators, and no agency controls outside audiences |
| Paid course sold on the same site | 2 | Both courses targeted would-be agency owners; money changes hands before any work |
| Request for login details | 1 | MYM calls credentials personal and confidential |
| No identifiable company | 9, plus 1 run by a private individual | A contract needs a party you can hold to it |
| Payouts routed through the agency | 0 explicit, 1 ambiguous | MYM pays only an account in the creator’s name |
| Upfront fee | 0 (6 said explicitly there is none) | You pay before any work, whatever the result |
The sample reflects what ranks in search, it is almost all French, and we read public pages only, never contracts. Search also turned up 18 agency domains that would not load; 16 of them are no longer registered at all. An agency found through an old list may simply be gone. Method and limits are on our MYM agency commission study page.
Does MYM certify or partner with any agencies?
No. MYM’s help centre says it cannot act as a go-between for an agency and a creator, and that there is no partnership between MYM and particular agencies and no agency certified by MYM.
That statement is in the help article on agencies (in French), updated on 2 September 2026. In our research, one directory site claimed an official partnership with MYM; no agency did. Bunny Agency is not a MYM partner either, and our about page says so.
Who should MYM pay, you or the agency?
You, always. MYM’s help centre requires you to own the bank account your earnings go to, and an agency cannot legitimately receive your MYM payouts.
This is the scam with the heaviest cost, and it has been reported. French Wikipedia’s article on MYM summarises complaints against some self-described “MYM agents”, including false promises, pressure, threats and attempts to take creators’ money. It cites a Le Parisien report of 16 July 2023 headlined, in translation, “‘He changed my bank details’: erotic models denounce their MYM agent’s abuses”. We could not read that article, which sits behind a paywall. Since September 2024, changing the IBAN, phone number or email on a MYM account has required a code sent by SMS, so nobody else has a reason to ask you for one. The payout rules are in MYM’s help article on bank details (in French).
Why is handing over your password risky on MYM?
Because MYM treats everything done with your credentials as done by you. Its terms let it delete an account whose credentials are used against their purpose, and they say MYM is not liable if an agent misuses them.
MYM also says it will never ask for your password and recommends SMS two-factor authentication. For teams, its help centre points to Infloww, the only CRM it officially partners with, as a way for someone to chat on your behalf without receiving the password. An agency can still work on your account under MYM’s terms, but the access method should be written into the MYM agency contract, and the email, phone and SMS codes should stay with you.
Which warning signs are easier to miss?
The quieter ones are about pressure and paperwork. Watch for any of these:
- The rate is given only on a call and never in writing.
- You are asked to delete your existing MYM account and sign up again through someone’s referral link, which MYM’s rules prohibit.
- The agency wants its work on your account kept from MYM, although MYM requires agents to declare themselves at support@mym.fans.
- There is no company name or registration number, only a messaging app contact.
Referral links themselves are legitimate; our guide to the MYM ambassador program explains how they pay.
What should you do if it has already happened?
Secure the account first, then the money, then the paper trail.
- Change your password, check that the email and phone number on the account are yours, and switch on SMS two-factor authentication.
- Look at the payout details. If the IBAN is not yours, write to support@mym.fans at once and say what happened.
- End the agency contract in writing, using its exit clause if it has one.
- Keep everything: the contract, messages, invoices and any bank statements.
- If money was taken or you were threatened, report it to the police and get legal advice.
- If content leaked, ask MYM’s support for takedown help, though MYM says it cannot guarantee every leak is removed.
