Is MYM Safe? Our Review for Creators

Written by Sophia Brecht Published Last updated

MYM is safe to use for most creators, as far as the platform’s own checks go. Every creator is identity-checked before the profile becomes visible, adult profiles are age-gated, payouts only go to a bank account in your own name, and MYM helps remove leaks. The limits deserve equal attention: MYM says it cannot guarantee a leak comes down, and you answer for everything done on your account.

We read MYM’s terms, privacy policy and help centre on 30 September 2026. The figures below are the ones MYM publishes about itself, and the verdict at the end is ours.

How does MYM check creators and fans?

Creators must be 18 or older, publish at least three media, give their name and address, confirm a phone number by SMS, and send a passport or national ID card with a security selfie. Until that certification passes, fans cannot see the profile at all.

MYM’s privacy policy (version of 19 October 2023) names Yoti for the ID and live face check and says the data is kept for eight years. A newer help article says ID documents have been authenticated by Finovox since 2025. Fans who want to reach adult content go through Yoti’s facial age estimation, and MYM says it has run recurring age re-checks since 2025. Driving licences, health insurance cards and residence permits are refused as ID.

Is MYM safe from leaks?

Only in part. On a computer, right-click and drag-and-drop are disabled on media, and MYM helps with takedown requests, but its help article on leaks (in French) says it “cannot guarantee 100% success in removing leaks”.

The article describes desktop protections only. Search engines also suggest “downloader” tools next to MYM’s name, which tells you people look for ways around them. Our advice is to treat anything sent to paying fans as something that could be copied, and to decide what you post on that basis.

What stays private on MYM?

The invoice a fan receives names your creator pseudonym; MYM issues it through Air Medias SAS on your behalf. Your legal name, address and ID go to MYM and its verification providers during certification.

Several other choices are yours. Messaging is on or off at your discretion. Public posts must stay non-explicit, so explicit material only ever sits behind the blur, and adult profiles are hidden from fans by default. Everything you post must show you: content featuring other people needs a separate photographer account and, if MYM asks, proof of those people’s consent. Whether you can run an account without your real name showing is answered in our FAQ.

How do you keep a MYM account secure?

Turn on two-factor authentication by SMS, which MYM recommends, and keep your password to yourself. MYM says it will never ask for your password, and its contract treats every action taken with your login as your own. Disclosing or misusing credentials can get the account deleted without notice or compensation.

Changes to your IBAN, phone number or email have required an SMS code since 1 September 2024. For teams, MYM’s help centre tells creators not to give their password even to their own staff, and it points to Infloww, the only CRM it has an official partnership with, as a way for someone to chat on the account without the password. Any agency should tell you in writing how it will access your account before you sign; at Bunny Agency the access method is agreed in writing before we start.

What is MYM’s position on agencies?

MYM allows them and puts the risk on the creator. Its terms define an agent (“Mandataire”) who may be active on the account, require every agent to declare itself to support@mym.fans, and hold the creator fully responsible for whatever the agent does. MYM also says it has no partner agencies and certifies none.

To creators approached by an agency, MYM recommends a contract covering exit terms, confidentiality, personal data including logins, intellectual property and the financial terms, and suggests asking other creators who have worked with that agency. From agencies, MYM requires a proper contract with the creator that includes an image-rights release, plus a signed copy of its anti-exploitation policy.

So watch for anyone calling itself an official or certified MYM agency, anyone who wants payouts sent to their own account, and anyone promising a set income. French Wikipedia cites a 2023 Le Parisien report, headlined “He changed my bank details”, about creators and their MYM agents. Our guides to MYM agency scams and the MYM agency contract go through the checks one at a time.

What is our verdict in this MYM Fans review?

MYM is a registered French company that publishes its fees and rules and documents its identity and age checks in detail. Its weak points are mostly in the contract and the money, and we would weigh them before signing up.

In MYM’s favour:

  • a registered company, AIR MEDIAS SAS in Paris, running the brand since 2019
  • ID and selfie checks on every creator, and age checks on fans before adult content
  • fees, hold periods and payout minimums written into its contract and help centre
  • payouts only to the creator’s own bank account, with SMS confirmation for changes
  • written rules for agencies, including a duty to declare themselves to MYM

Worth weighing against it:

  • bank fees of 3.5% or 7% on top of the commission, which is 25% on subscriptions
  • a contract in French only, with several points where MYM’s own documents disagree
  • refunds to fans decided by MYM, with fraud losses above 1% of turnover borne by the creator
  • leaks that MYM cannot promise to remove
  • terms that can change on 15 days’ notice, where silence counts as acceptance
  • earnings frozen for as long as an account is suspended

For the platform from the ground up, start with what MYM is; the bank fees and commission are worked through in MYM fees.
